This project involved converting a shop and storage area above into four high-quality apartments, fully fitted and finished to a professional standard.
From Storage Space to Stylish Living
The project began with a large, unused storage space above a commercial premises in the heart of Berwick. Our brief was to completely reconfigure the area and create four self-contained residential apartments — each designed for comfortable, modern living while meeting all current building and safety standards.
To achieve this, our team carried out a full internal transformation, including layout reconfiguration, new installations, and a complete decorative finish.
New Layouts and Stud Partitions
We began by constructing new stud partition walls to form the layout of the four individual apartments. Each unit was designed to make the best possible use of the available space, incorporating open-plan kitchen/living areas, bedrooms, and bathrooms.
This stage was carefully planned to ensure sound insulation, fire safety, and efficient access for utilities — creating practical and compliant living spaces throughout.
Full Electrical Works
A complete electrical installation was carried out across all four apartments, including new lighting, power points, and consumer units. These upgrades ensure safe, modern, and energy-efficient operation, meeting the latest building regulations.
New Kitchens and Bathrooms
Each apartment was fitted with a brand-new kitchen — designed and installed to deliver both style and functionality.
We also supplied and installed new bathroom suites, featuring modern fixtures, fittings, and finishes to create clean and comfortable spaces for residents.
Flooring and Paintwork
The interiors were finished with new flooring throughout — including durable materials in kitchens and bathrooms, and comfortable finishes in living areas and bedrooms.
Every surface was then prepared and painted to a professional standard, creating a bright and modern look across all four apartments.
Structural Works: New Metal Staircase and Entrance Way
As part of the conversion, we also installed a large metal staircase, providing safe and easy access to the apartments.
In addition, a new front door entrance system was constructed, enhancing both the visual appeal and the functionality of the property’s main access point.
